Apartment life realization #1:
I’m going to do a shit-ton of walking on the days where there is no shuttle-bus service.  It’ll be worth it, tho.  Hopefully.  Not gonna lie, walking this much on hot days like this is going to get annoying sometimes.
I ended up walking about 4 miles today so far, and the day’s not even halfway over.  Unable to find a ride, I had to walk to Bruin Plaza to grab my wristband for Bruin Bash, then, seeing as how I was on campus already, headed over to Sunset Rec to go swim (which is about a half mile or so from Bruin Plaza).  I swam my daily mile, got out, then stopped by Covel to visit a couple of friends.
I walked back to Ackermann to grab lunch and catch up on some football games, then walked all the way back to my apartment.
It’s now 2:30pm, and I’ve walked a little less than 4 miles and swam 1 mile.
Not bad.
It’s funny, the amount of walking (especially when I start carrying 20+ pounds on my back) doesn’t really bother me—what worries me is the amount of time all this “commuting” will take out of my day, especially since my free time dwindles down to zero during the school year.
It’s about 25 minutes on foot from my apartment to the Bruin Bear, so I’ll be walking an extra 10-15 minutes compared to when I would walk from the dorms.
That’s not too bad.
Mreh, we’ll see how this year turns out.  Maybe I’ll get burned out when Samahang and everything else kick in, but we’ll see.
On the upside, maintaining my weight is gonna be easy peasy with all this walking.
