The Olympics.
I never thought such an event would have such a profound impact on my life.  Sure, watching these athletes compete is nothing short of awe inspiring, but I never thought I’d be inspired to the point where such inspiration makes its way into my daily activities. Although I grew up with a pool in my backyard and fell in love with swimming in the early days of my life, I never thought...

Unconditional love.  It’s funny how such a simple concept is incomprehensible to the great majority of people I’ve met.  Love everyone, and love everyone unconditionally.  No questions asked.  Help one another. Therein lies a great irony, and something that saddens me deeply.  Many of my peers, who call themselves Catholic or Christian, tend to be among the most judgmental people I...

ruinedchildhood: EVERYBODY KNOWS IT’S. ABOUT. TO GO. DOWN! “GET IT SIMBA!” I rewatched this movie in 3D a couple of months back.  That scene all-of-a-sudden made SO much more sense to me.  LOL Disney be playin’ dirtyyyyyy

The consequences of failure are pretty damn steep, but I feel like the odds might be in my favor.  Then again, potential complications are everywhere.

servilemassesarise: please confer - itsneekoh: Y’know, all that violent rioting isn’t exactly helping the cause of fighting against the alleged cases of police brutality.  As Ryan so eloquently put it, damaging innocent local businesses and parading around throwing rocks at the cops isn’t going to bring meaningful results to what should be a noble cause.  It only invites police retaliation...

ACA Workshop: Aftermath
Pat’s piece kicked my ass, dude.  Well, physically speaking, that is.  I was able to keep up with all the moves, it’s just I was dying halfway through the piece.  Nonetheless, the piece was hella dope.  It’ll just take me a couple of workshops/sessions before I get into the groove of things and bring my endurance back. My body works in weird ways.  I have a pretty hefty amount...

ACA Workshop tonight.
This’ll be the first time I’ve legitly danced since SPCN, which was over two months ago.  Pat’s teaching, which means this workshop’s gonna be hella dope, but most likely pretty difficult.  I’m probably stiff as hell and my pickup will probably suck dick, but meh, it’s all in the fun of it. Let’s see what happens.  :P

Summer days
mean a crowded Sunset Recreation Center, which means crowded lanes in the Olympic pool, which means extremely inefficient workouts. I think that this will be the first of quite a few days where I decide to just skip out on swimming altogether.

It's funny.
The older I get, the less interested I am in attaining personal fame.  I dunno, it’s something about college that makes you realize how little that type of fame matters when it comes to life.  Sure, with fame comes a hefty dose of self-confidence boosts and temporary happiness, but for the most part, it’s fucking shallow and useless, especially in a society as media-saturated as ours....

Parking Shifts
When you’re employed under Access Control here at UCLA, you get the opportunity to work parking enforcement shifts during the day.  Although you have to deal with the occasional lost driver and frustrated parents parking in the fire lane, the job pretty much has you doing nothing and getting paid for it.   Although I’m not trying to sound arrogant, the stupidity of some of these...
